Marisa Matabaran
OFW, Japan
Marisa Matabaran has gained numerous learnings from financial transactions in the past—that she needs to be smart in investing her hard-earned money, and that it’s all right to take out a debt as long as it is put to good use.
In her case, her first loan with Pinoy Luminaries helped stretch her funds during the months she was applying for a job abroad.
“Thank you to Pinoy Luminaries sa pagpapaloan niyo. Malaking tulong po ’yun sa expenses, lalo na pabalik-balik ng Maynila,” she says.
Now working for a housekeeping service in Japan and on a three-year contract, she says, “Thankful ako sa Panginoon, despite sa COVID pandemic, may trabaho pa rin kami. Apektado po ngayon ang trabaho namin kasi palaging my state of emergency kaya takot din mga customers namin.”
In the last year and six months that she’s been working abroad, Marisa has managed to pay off her loan successfully and also made a few investments, which, sadly, were not too successful.
However, she’s confident that with all these lessons behind her, she’ll know better the next time.
“Mahirap mag-loan if walang income na darating,” she reflects. “Dapat may mapupuntahan ang perang hiniram.”
In the future, she hopes to save aggressively and invest her money. She’s open to taking out another loan from Pinoy Luminaries in the future as she appreciates the company’s quick and efficient loan disbursement, which took less than a week.
